We built the app we wished existed in the noise.
OUSIA began with a simple frustration: the most powerful technology ever made for the human mind was being pointed at keeping us scrolling. We wanted the opposite — something that answers to you.
The name
Ousia (οὐσία) is an ancient Greek word for “essence” or “being” — the true substance of a thing, beneath its surface. It's what the philosophers reached for when they asked what a life is actually made of.
And “meditainment” is the bridge we're building — the calm of meditation with the pull of the media you already love, aimed for once at your growth instead of your attention. That's the company's whole reason to exist: helping you feel your essence in all the chaos and noise.

A note from the founder
I kept noticing the same thing in myself and the people I love: we had endless access to wisdom, and less peace than ever. The tools were never the problem — where they pointed was.
OUSIA is my attempt to point a little of that intelligence back at the person holding the phone — privately, on their own device, in a voice they choose. If it helps you spend your attention on purpose, it's doing its job.
